Who We Serve

Who we serve

Commercial Real Estate

Your roof, on your terms

Most rooftop developers offer owners one structure: a lease, on the developer's terms, with the project economics going to the developer. Jenel Energy structures around what the owner actually wants — including owning the system outright.

  1. No capital, if that's the point

Capital-light structures are available on every site — we fund, build and operate, and you put in nothing but the roof.

  2. Operations keep running

Work happens on the roof and at the service entrance, scheduled around your operating hours.

  3. The upside is a choice

Lease the roof, host a PPA, or own the system and keep the incentives and depreciation.

  4. Diligence before a number

Property, energy and economics evaluated first. Sometimes the honest answer is that the site does not carry a system.

Four Ways to Structure It

StructureWhat you put inWhat you get backUsually right when
PPAThe roof and a power purchase commitment. No capital.Power at a contracted rate, typically below the utility alternative. You want savings without capital, and you use the power on site.
Roof leaseThe roof. No capital, no power commitment.Rent on square footage that currently earns nothing.Site load is low, or the power is better sold off site.
Direct ownershipProject capital, financed or on balance sheet. The full economics — incentives, depreciation, and the asset. You have the tax position and hold the building long.
ServicesWhatever scope you want us to carry.Development, engineering, EPC or operations, as a fee.You have your own capital and want execution, not a partner.

Terms are priced per site — on irradiance, roof age, interconnection position, load profile and the incentive regime in that state. Anyone quoting you a rate before seeing a utility bill is quoting a template.

Data Center Developers

Power is the constraint. Land is the fight.

Compute is not limited by capital or silicon right now — it is limited by sites with power behind them. Jenel Energy brings the half of that problem that is a real estate problem: finding the parcel, controlling it, and understanding what the utility will actually deliver to it and when.

  1. Site origination & control

Thirty years of sourcing and closing commercial real estate, most of it off-market. Site identification, assembly, option and purchase structures, and the land-use work that follows.

  2. Interconnection reality

Utility studies, service capacity and queue position assessed before a site is committed to — the constraint that most often decides whether a parcel is worth anything at all.

  3. On-site generation & storage

Solar and battery systems developed, engineered and built against a load profile, for bridging capacity, resiliency and demand management alongside utility service.

Utilities

Distributed capacity, sited and delivered

Distributed generation and storage inside your territory, developed by a counterparty that controls the land it builds on and stays with the asset after commissioning — rather than selling the project and leaving.

  1. Sites, not just projects

Rooftops, parking and land already under control or sourced through a thirty-year real estate platform — site origination being the part of distributed development that is hardest to buy.

  2. Development through commissioning

Zoning, permitting, engineering, incentive capture, financing and EPC carried by one team, so the party that modeled the project is the party that builds it.

  3. Operations that hold

Dispatch, revenue optimization and long-term operations — assets underwritten on a twenty-year view because that is the horizon the parent company holds buildings on.
